Two-factor authentication is optional when setting up your account. There are two times when it can be set up.
- When creating your account
- From the “My Account” section of an existing account
When creating account
- Click “Yes” when prompted to set up two-factor authentication after setting up your password.
- Open your third-party authentication application app and scan the provided barcode.
- An option to enter a text code is listed below the barcode.
- Enter your verification code from the authenticator application.
- Two-factor recovery codes will appear on the next page. These can be used if you lose access to your two-factor authentication application. We recommend that you download these codes and keep them in a safe place.
Note: If you do not already use an authenticator application, we recommend you download one prior to this step. Authy is a great, free option.
From the My Account page
- Select “Set up two-factor authentication”
- Open your third-party authentication application app and scan the provided barcode.
- An option to enter a text code is listed below the barcode.
- Enter your verification code from the authenticator application.
- Two-factor recovery codes will appear on the next page. These can be used if you lose access to your two-factor authentication application. We recommend that you download these codes and keep them in a safe place.
